Our Car Got Broken Into!

So last night we went to see the new Batman movie, Dark Knight, with some of our friends. The movie was was amazing!!! It was intense through the whole thing and I would definitely recommend seeing it. But I would say that it wasn't worth the $500 it's going to cost us for being there.

As we got out of the movie I was walking to the our car with my friend Ashley and Scott stopped to talk with her husband. As I got closer I saw a bunch of broken glass on the ground near my door and I first I thought someone broke a bottle by our car. Then as we kept getting closer I noticed it wasn't from a bottle, but that it was our window.

I was in shock that someone actually busted our window. Right away I noticed that my ipod was gone along with the ipod dock. The thing that bothers me is when we were in the theater waiting for the movie to start my friend Emily pulled out her ipod and started playing a game on it. I told her I had my ipod charging so that I could bring it in and play games while we waited too, but forgot to grab it. Had I grabbed it, our car wouldn't have been broken into. They didn't take anything else.

It turns out there were 3 other cars that got broken into also, and all had similar stuff taken. The police had already been out there for another car so there was a card to call the officer waiting on our car. When the officer got there he let us know that he had already taken pictures of our car and just needed Scott and I to fill out statements. He also told us that the movie theater has no cameras up in their lot and this was not an unusual occurence there. He said that they have told the theater before that they need to invest in some kind of security system and they haven't.

Fortunately we have insurance coverage for the car and everything inside it (including the ipod), but we have to pay the $500 deductible to fix it. Unfortunately anything on an Audi is expensive so there's no way we can get it fixed for less than the deductible. Oh well though, that's life sometimes. It could have been worse!

We stopped on the way home to get the glass vacuumed out, with the help of our friends Bobby and Emily. I got these pictures after most of the glass was already cleaned up. I wish I would have gotten a picture of what it looked like when we found it, but I wasn't in a blogging mindset, lol.

I know how it feels to have your car broken into. We've had it happen to ours four times! All at home during the night, which feels VERY violating! They've stolen the radio every time, but the last time. Twice they broke the windows and the other 2 times we forgot to lock it. We've only paid for the windows though and just went without the steroes. We had the factory one for the Saturn and just put that back in and it ONLY has am/fm radio. Someone got into the trunk(we forgot to lock it) since we've been here in Vancouver probably thinking we had a changer in the trunk, so they stole our emergency kit!! So, they Saturn has been hit twice.

I hope that they can catch whoever is stealing them. It's frustrating when people just take what you have worked for and earned. You must feel angry! It always made me feel so mad when I have to pay for the damage that THEY did and they get my stuff too! When you come, I'll tell you about the first time it happened to us and the stress & blessings behind it.
